Leverkusen | April 23, 2009: Girls´ Day: A Look Behind the Scenes of Chemion Logistics
We at Chemion have supported, this year too, the nationwide vocational orientation day for girls between ten and fifteen years of age: On April 23, 2009 a group of girl students took a look behind the scenes of the logistics service provider and had the chance to test their skills in operating the 2000 HP Diesel locomotive that answers to the name of Silvia. Under precise instructions from the engine driver the girls could see for themselves how much fine feeling is needed to operate the buttons, controls and brakes in the driver’s cab. The Girls´ Day is designed to encourage female students’ interest in science and engineering courses and careers and to overcome their fear of so-called “male professions” by giving them insight into the world of work.
