Leverkusen | May 03, 2010: Girls’ Day: Enthusiasm for Logistics
It has already become a tradition: Every year in April Chemion Logistik participates in the nationwide Girls’ Day. On the so-called „Girls’ Future Day“ enterprises open their doors in order to give the girls insight into different engineering and scientific professions and, thus, expand their spectrum of career choices. On April 22 around twenty students from the region made use of Chemion’s offer to look behind the scenes of the world of logistics in Dormagen and Leverkusen. All day long girls between thirteen and fifteen years of age visited various workplaces at the CHEMPARK: For example, they had the chance to get a closer look into operational processes in Chemion’s postal sector KEP (courier, express and parcel service). The program also included the operation of a locomotive on the CHEMPARK premises and a view from a crane operator’s cab onto a container terminal. In order to be on the save side during their one-day excursion into logistics the girls had started their day by joyfully putting on blue overalls and protective helmets.
