Leverkusen | May 21, 2008: Chemion Logistik is Service Provider of the Year 2007
Chemion Logistik has been awarded the „Service Provider of the Year“ Challenge Cup 2007 by INEOS Manufacturing Deutschland.
The logistics company received the award for reliable, safe and economical services in the field of rail transport. When awarding the cup in early 2008 INEOS also extended the shunting contract by five more years.
It is for the first time that INEOS Manufacturing Deutschland GmbH awards the „Service Provider of the Year“ Challenge Cup to Chemion Logistik GmbH thereby honouring the reliable and safe performance of the logistics company in the field of rail transport in 2007. At the same time, INEOS extended the shunting contract by five more years in early 2008. When choosing the service provider of the year the decisive factors for INEOS are - apart from reliability and safety – the company’s understanding of clients’ interests and economic aspects because it is of great importance to INEOS that its clients can rely on regular and punctual deliveries by rail.
Chemion has been responsible for the shunting operations at the INEOS factory site in Cologne since April 1995. According to its own statement the company also appreciates Chemion’s efforts to develop new services in the field of rail transport and to expand its local transportation services. So, Chemion uses its Chemical Park Shuttle that has linked the sites in Dormagen, Krefeld-Uerdingen and Leverkusen for many years to forward, among other things, INEOS’ tank cars. In addition to this, the logistics company pushes the collaboration with Railion in order to further enhance the delivery performance. As a consequence, Chemion can use traction units flexibly and at short notice in those sectors where the German railway giant Deutsche Bahn may be less flexible. Especially during last year’s strike of the German train drivers Chemion proved itself to INEOS more than once as a “rapid reaction force”. With these customized services the logistics services provider has generated substantial added value for its clients as result of which the 2007 emergency transportation services have become regular business relations with the INEOS customers in Emmerich and Kempen. „Last year, a total cargo of 12,360 tons was delivered by rail to the utmost satisfaction of our clients“, explains Friedhelm Pfeiffer, Logistics Contract Manager at INEOS Cologne, upon awarding the challenge cup to Chemion. „Efforts are being made to further develop the collaboration with Chemion in the field of local transportation services because in addition to trust in performance we particularly appreciate reliability and cost-effectiveness.“ Norbert Jüngling, Chemion Account Manager for INEOS, is proud of receiving the award and convinced that the partnership collaboration will bear further fruit. „INEOS challenges us and we are perfectly willing to meet the challenge and to offer new services in the interest of our clients.“
