Leverkusen | October 25, 2010: Inbound Supply Chain Solutions for Chemical Products
Chemion Logistik is presenting its logistics solutions for imports to Europe at the K Trade Fair (from 27th October until 3rd November 2010 in Düsseldorf). The holistic concepts are individually compiled and include other services apart from physical logistic services: Chemion makes its comprehensive network available to its customers and, upon request, takes on the management of partners, thereby offering its customers service from one source.

The developments in recent years clearly show: manufacturing companies in Germany are increasingly buying international raw materials and finished goods in order to be able to supply regional markets with their products. „We support these companies in importing goods into the European Union“, according to Elmar Ockenfels, Business Analyst at Chemion Logistik GmbH. The logistics service provider has a suitable infrastructure and the necessary network at its disposal in order to accompany companies through the complete inbound supply chain: from the acceptance of the products at international ports to interim storage, finishing and packing up to the further distribution to the recipients. Elmar Ockenfels: „Along with the physical services which we provide on the last mile for our customers, we are also able to support them in terms of communication and, if need be, establish contacts to other service providers.“
The infrastructure at CHEMPARK locations is an important aspect of the services offered by Chemion, which gives the importers a clear added value in many respects: the storage and commissioning of goods from abroad can be done at countryside locations. This makes importing processes more flexible, which in turn makes the importers more independent of the capacities available at the port storage facilities. Furthermore, individual additional services can be provided at the locations. This includes, for example, taking samples for quality control of the products after the transport by ship or mixing or filling of part quantities services, which Chemion also provides for hazardous goods as a logistics service provider specializing in the chemical industry and associated sectors.
Chemion’s objective when developing inbound supply chain solutions is: to organize the import processing from A to Z for customers and to guarantee a professional handling of the goods along the whole supply chain. To ensure this, Chemion works together with competent partners from special fields and controls the service providers´ various individual services centrally. In this way, companies are given a complete service, reducing the work involved in coordinating and consequently the time required. Cooperating with a reliable correspondence partner can also mean a big advantage for manufacturers and exporters from abroad, Elmar Ockenfels is convinced about this. „Chemion organizes its services to suit the customers’ needs so that they can be an important element of its business development in EU countries, particularly for small and medium-sized companies from Asia, Central and South America or Eastern Europe as well.
Chemion is presenting its comprehensive logistics solutions for imports from overseas at the joint Cologne Bonn Business (CBB) stand in Hall 7a, Stand 35D.
