Safe Capacity: Container Terminals in Leverkusen
Three container terminals at the CHEMPARK Leverkusen with a total storage capacity of 20,000 square meters offer optimal conditions for your logistics needs. This is one of Germany’s largest loading and unloading terminals for hazardous goods with capacity for 1,400 box and tank containers.
The strategic location and the large storage capacity make it possible to handle logistics processes efficiently and economically. The bimodal terminal for hazardous goods comprises 340 stock rooms, and an additional 600 spots are available for 20’ containers in the new terminal for empty containers. The trimodal container terminal has 460 stock rooms. Daily inland ships ensure direct and economical transport from and to the ARA ports.
Modern IT for central planning
All processes at the container terminal, including central planning and scheduling, registration, and coordination, are steered and monitored by our central container control station (CLS). The staff at the center is the interface between production, shipping, freight forwarders, and shipping companies. Thanks to special data processing systems, we have all processes, from warehouse administration to container planning and transport, under control at all times. The location of an individual container can be determined within seconds. This allows containers to be used to their full capacity, avoid lines at the transfer facilities, reduce the coordination effort, and increase safety.
